On a Growth Path

Five Years of Eisenmann Environmental Technology in China

Shanghai, July 17, 2026 - China remains one of the most important growth markets for environmental technology. Increasingly stringent environmental regulations and decarbonisation efforts are driving demand for exhaust air treatment, water treatment and residual material processing systems. Since 2021, Eisenmann Environmental Technology has been represented in Shanghai with its own subsidiary. Over the past five years, the environmental technology specialists have successfully established themselves in the market through a range of successful projects.

Profitable Within a Short Time
Founded by a small team, Eisenmann Environmental Technology Ltd. in Shanghai now employs around ten people. The site reached profitability just two years after its establishment.
Among its first projects was an exhaust air treatment system for Fujifilm, consisting of a regenerative thermal oxidation (RTO) system and an adsorption rotor. In 2022, this was followed by, among other projects, a system comprising two RTOs and two steam boilers for Tesa in Vietnam. In 2023, the subsidiary secured its first order in the coal mining industry with an exhaust air treatment system for the Yuanxiang coal mine. Today, the RTO system serves as an important reference project in the coal mining sector.

The Shanghai site has also established a presence in the chemical industry. In 2024, Yongying became the company’s first catalyst recovery project, followed in 2025 by a large scale exhaust air treatment system for Lunan Chemicals. Alongside the chemical industry, the pharmaceutical sector is expected to become an increasingly important target market in the future.

Customer Focus
“The fact that we have been able to establish ourselves in such a demanding competitive environment within a very short time demonstrates the strength of our team and our technological approach,” says Tobias Werz, Managing Director of Eisenmann Environmental Technology. Tailor made solutions and comprehensive service play an important role in this success. “Our goal is to stay close to our customers and execute projects entirely locally, from sales and engineering through plant construction and service,” says Yu Li, Managing Director of the Shanghai subsidiary. “Combined with the close collaboration within our group of companies, this is a key factor for our continued growth.”

Eisenmann Environmental Technology is part of the Deurotech Group, an alliance of leading experts in mechanical and plant engineering. The Shanghai site serves as a central platform for the Group’s activities in Southeast Asia.

Technology as a Competitive Advantage
In Asia, Eisenmann Environmental Technology is currently focusing primarily on exhaust air treatment solutions. In many applications, these solutions are combined with energy recovery concepts, helping customers reduce both emissions and operating costs. The company differentiates itself through technologically advanced and high performance systems. “Our customers expect solutions that deliver both environmental and economic benefits,” explains Yu Li. “High purification efficiency and energy efficiency are crucial. This is exactly where our systems create clear added value for industrial applications.”

This technological positioning is complemented by proprietary innovations. Eisenmann Environmental Technology Shanghai has obtained patents for two solutions: a system for the thermal treatment of dust laden exhaust air and a highly efficient gas mixing device. In addition, the Shanghai site has received multiple certifications as a high tech and innovation driven enterprise.

Strong Prospects
The outlook for the China subsidiary is highly positive. It is expected to become an important growth driver for Eisenmann Environmental Technology across Asia. The site has also established its own development capabilities, which will increasingly support projects throughout the Deurotech Group worldwide.
